In the history of aviation accidents, some tragedies acquire strange stories that linger long after investigators determine what went wrong. One of the most unsettling accounts linked to a major air disaster involves American Airlines Flight 191, the catastrophic crash near Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport on 25 May 1979 that killed 273 people.
Years later, a man named David Booth claimed he had experienced repeated visions of the crash in the days leading up to the disaster, disturbing scenes he said he reported to authorities before the aircraft ever took off.
Booth later said the experience felt completely different from an ordinary dream. He described it as a recurring “vision” in which he saw a bright, sunny day, a huge airport, and a long runway with a large passenger aircraft preparing to take off.
According to Booth, he could clearly identify the plane as an American Airlines aircraft. He watched as it taxied down the runway and gathered speed, but just as it began taking off, he sensed that something was wrong with the sound of one of its engines.
He said the aircraft briefly climbed into the air before suddenly rolling and falling back toward the ground. The disturbing scene reportedly unfolded in the same way each time he experienced what he described as the vision.
Booth later shared details of the experience on the YouTube channel Our Paranormal World, emphasizing that he did not consider it an ordinary dream. Instead, he maintained that what he experienced felt like a vivid vision of an aircraft disaster.
