A worker at a Ford factory died after being pinned by a machine, according to police.

Police are investigating after first responders were called to the Ford Transmission Plant in Sharonville, Ohio, for an industrial accident Monday morning.

A press machine was undergoing routine maintenance when police said it was inadvertently turned on, pinning 61-year-old Gregory Knopf.

Knopf was freed from the machine and medics started life-saving measures and took him to the hospital, where he later died, according to police.

“There were multiple witnesses to this incident and it is considered an industrial accident at this time,” Sharonville police said.

The accident is still under investigation by the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office, Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Ford.
