John McCain Handed the Fake Steele Dossier to Comey—and Sparked Russiagate. Now Comey Faces a Subpoena.

In December 2016, Senator John McCain sent an aide to London to grab copies of the infamous Steele dossier—a collection of unverified, salacious claims tying Trump to Russia.

The very next day, McCain personally delivered two copies straight to then-FBI Director James Comey. That handoff lit the fuse for the entire Russia hoax investigation, better known as Russiagate, which wasted years and millions chasing shadows while Mueller ultimately found no criminal conspiracy between Trump and Russia.

McCain later bragged in his memoir that he did his “duty” and would do it again. Duty? More like handing the Deep State the ammunition they needed to target a political opponent.
Fast-forward to today: Comey just got hit with a grand jury subpoena from federal prosecutors in Florida—under a Trump-appointed U.S. attorney—as part of a sweeping probe into the “grand conspiracy” behind the 2016 election interference claims and the weaponization of government against Trump. This isn’t some fishing expedition; it’s accountability finally catching up.
The dossier was junk from the start, funded by Clinton’s campaign and riddled with hearsay. Yet it fueled years of smears, wiretaps, and endless media hysteria. Comey shouldn’t just be answering questions—he should be answering for why he ran with it.
Justice delayed is justice denied, but better late than never. The walls are closing in on the real hoaxers.
