An active shooter incident at Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital unfolded early in the morning, triggering panic and a large emergency response. Police were first alerted around 7:08 a.m. after reports of gunfire in the hospital’s parking garage, leading to an immediate lockdown and instructions for staff and patients to shelter in place.

Authorities later confirmed the shooting was a targeted attack between two employees. The suspect fired multiple shots, striking a 25-year-old coworker twice in the arm. The victim was quickly treated at the hospital and was reported to be in stable condition.

Law enforcement launched a large-scale response involving multiple agencies, and the suspect was later taken into custody without further incident. The lockdown was eventually lifted, and hospital operations resumed. Investigators continue to examine the motive, while the incident has raised broader concerns about workplace safety in healthcare settings.
