‘Deadliest Catch’ star Todd Meadows’ cause of death revealed

The official cause of death for Todd Meadows has been confirmed as drowning with probable hypothermia after he fell overboard while working aboard the Aleutian Lady crab vessel in the Bering Sea. The 25-year-old was pronounced dead on February 25, and his body was later transported to Anchorage before being cremated.

Meadows had recently joined the crew featured on Deadliest Catch, and his death occurred while cameras were rolling. However, his family has asked that no footage of the incident be aired. He leaves behind his wife and three young sons, and a fundraiser has raised significant support to help his family during this difficult time.

Captain Rick Shelford shared an emotional tribute, remembering Meadows as a hardworking and joyful presence who quickly became part of the crew’s family. Despite the tragedy, Deadliest Catch is still expected to return this year, continuing to highlight the extreme risks faced by those working in the dangerous crab fishing industry.
