During her reign, Queen Elizabeth II carried a personal mobile phone protected by anti hacking encryption reportedly set up by MI6, ensuring her communications stayed completely private. But according to royal commentator Jonathan Sacerdoti, only two people ever had guaranteed access to her, no matter where in the world she was.
“Apparently the Queen has two people who she speaks to the most on her phones. The two people she phones the most is said to be her daughter Princess Anne and her racing manager John Warren,” Sacerdoti said on the Royally US podcast.
The Queen’s bond with her daughter, Princess Anne, was well known throughout the royal family, but her close relationship with Warren surprised many. As the son in law of the late Earl of Carnarvon, Warren managed the Queen’s beloved racehorses for decades, a passion she carried with her since childhood.
“So this is apparently who can get through to the Queen from anywhere in the world, if he calls she answers,” Sacerdoti explained.
Queen Elizabeth II passed away in September 2022 at the age of 96, after more than 70 years on the throne, the longest reign in British history. Behind the ceremony and the crown, small details like these offered a rare glimpse of the woman herself, someone who, even with the weight of an empire on her shoulders, always made time for the people and passions closest to her heart.
